Gardening, an activity that counts in your active sessions!

Gardening, an activity that counts in your active sessions!
The beautiful season is back! The soil thaws quietly and it will soon be time to play in your flower beds and sow in the garden! You may not know, but gardening counts for physical activity. Any movement of the body that involves an expenditure of energy is a form of physical activity.

Put some effort into it
Although gardening is considered a low to medium intensity activity, it still counts in your weekly physical exercise balance. Of course, it depends on the intensity you put into it.

If you prepare your soil by forklifting it, you may reach a high intensity of activity ... provided that a few drops of sweat percolate on your forehead and you spend at least 30 minutes.

To burn more calories
To achieve low levels of physical activity by gardening, you must accumulate 60 to 80 minutes of light to moderate activity per week.

If you exercise vigorously and your effort compares to a bike ride of 16 to 20 km / h, then you will have reached an average intensity of physical activity, while having fun! If you maintain your average intensity, you will have spent after 1 hour of gardening 250 to 400 calories (calculated for a person of 70 kg).

Since you can spend several hours cleaning the yard in the spring, gardening can become a great way to control your weight, or even lose a few pounds before the summer. Remember that losing a pound equals 3500 calories expended.

Gardening without getting hurt
Do not run into your flowerbeds without paying attention to injuries! Somewhat like when the first snowfall falls in winter and when we take out our shovels, the muscles of our bodies need to be awakened quietly if we do not want to suffer the next day. To do this, we proceed in stages and we draw up a list of the tasks to be carried out in order of difficulty, from the easiest to the most difficult. We also distribute them over a few days or weeks in order to habituate our body to the effort gradually.

Green Happiness
Gardening will bring you many physical benefits such as muscular strength, flexibility, endurance ... Not counting are affecting your morale and the pride of having a flowerbed or feasting on your local produce more than fresh vegetables !!!
