All summer to build their mini home
The mini-house phenomenon is slowly making its way to Quebec and he literally won the heart of Nathalie Sallanon.
"It's a way to easily access a property in an environmentally, with a budget of about $ 25,000. In addition, the house is on a trailer, so travel is never a problem, "says the lady, arrived from France in 2013.
On a ground of St-Gédéon, the little family has embarked on the construction in early summer and hopes to finish for the winter.
"It is only two to work on building four days a week. And we never had anything like it before casting. As we learn. However, there is a nice community around mini-houses, sharing ideas helps a lot, "says Ms. Sallanon.
Family project
For his part, the young Theo was initially reluctant to embark on such a project, but quickly changed his opinion.
"Initially, he told me I was crazy, remembers his mother laughing. But it takes shape, the easier it is to visualize. "
The relational aspect of this project was also very important for Nathalie Sallanon.
"Adolescence is never an easy time. Building family lets me closer to my son, to build something with it, "said the visibly enjoying this project to transmit good values to his son.
Big ambitions
Nathalie Sallanon believes the mini-houses could mitigate the problems of ownership and isolation of seniors.
"There really is something to develop. It is an ideal solution for some important problems. "

The regulations currently in effect, however, complicates matters for owners while the trailer houses are considered caravans and can be inhabited all year round.
On the side of the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ), it indicates that these homes are not subject to the body.
"If cities provide exceptions for these properties, there is no problem," confirmed a spokesman for the authority.
The MRC must therefore now be interested in the movement believes Nathalie Sallanon. "There is a legal vacuum that pushed the people interested. We must find a solution, "said the lady who relies on the Mini Home Lantier Festival to inform the public.
