Off or on your devices anywhere

With SmartLife, security is not the only advantage. With the adapter you can turn off or turn on any electrical device regardless of where one is and thus measure power consumption. In addition, the multisensor analysis environment of a room and reacts to movement.

Installation is easy. After creating a user account on smartlife.swissocm.ch, it is necessary to connect the box to the Internet. In doing so, a voice warning alerts when a step is completed. Convenient! The Smartlife-Box is also equipped with a battery in case of power failure.

For the purpose of our test, we installed a surveillance camera and an adapter to measure the power consumption. After some minutes, the material is detected by the Smartlife-Box and ready to use.

Custom security via the Smartphone application

After installing the connected objects, we realize our user account at smartlife.swisscom.ch, from which we can set our preferences. Via the Smartphone application (iOS, Android or Web browser) or the desktop browser, we can watch what films our surveillance camera directly to video (streaming).

The camera serves to break detector. Different emergency can be defined via the application. We opted for the loud alarm, an SMS and a warning message. Result: it works perfectly. When we used the camera to prevent burglary, the alarm is triggered automatically. As for the adapter, it provided detailed information in the form of bar graphs showing our electricity consumption.

Additional accessories: motion sensors ...

It is possible to add many more objects connected to Smartlife  system: motion detectors, fire and flood, opening detectors door / window, the latest multi-sensor that analyzes the room environment (humidity air, temperature, brightness).

Two packs and various range of subscriptions

Smartlife comes in two separate packages. The Security Starter Kit to 299 francs which further comprises the Smartlife box, door opening and window detectors and a remote control. Security and Surveillance Kit to 499 francs, which includes a rotating camera HD with integrated motion sensor and adapter. It is also possible to form its own SmartLife system by adding various objects connected to your preference.

On subscription, you have two choices to the customer. On the one hand, the subscription Self Monitored at 9.90 francs / month which allows the customer to be informed of fires and break-ins by phone call, SMS or email. And, secondly, the subscription Intervention to 24.90 francs / month, which includes cooperation between Swisscom and the security company Securitas. This results in sending a response team directly to the customer's home in case of problems. Any intervention (manually triggered by the user) is a supplement to the tune of CHF 250 minimum and variable depending on the type of intervention.

SmartLife Quing replaces the previous system. The Quing customers will replace their old equipment free of charge with the new.

Conclusion

Smartlife has passed this test with flying colors and, once the installation step. With the manual step by step, the system worked in its first implementation and was ready to use in minutes. It then remained to configure its preferences through the application or browser. Again, everything was easy to use and quick to implement. In summary, the biggest bright spot of SmartLife comes from its flexibility and its synergy between security and comfort (able to handle the devices remotely, measure the environment of a room). The customer can, moreover, add various objects connected to its installation. After this test, we are curious to know what we are still in the future.
