"High-tech" a term not so tech it
Today the word "high-tech" means anything that relates to the world of digital technologies. Yet its literal meaning is broader, since it means "high technology". As for its origin, this term comes from the interior decoration. It appears for the first time in a book published in the year 1970. It designates the integration of industrial elements (scaffolding, carpets, metal desks, etc.) in the decoration of private homes. The official term for digital tools is ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), but it is used less and less, except in official bodies.
